Back glass replacement in Tacoma & the South Sound

Rear windshields carry a defroster grid, often a radio antenna, and sometimes a wiper motor and high-mount brake light. Replacing one is more than dropping in a pane of glass — the electrical connections have to come back properly.

Defroster grid and antenna connections

The printed grid on the inside of the glass handles both defrost and, on many vehicles, the radio antenna. We reconnect and test both before we leave, so you find out in our driveway visit rather than on the first cold morning.

The cleanup is the hard part

Tempered back glass explodes into the cargo area, the rear seat crevices, the spare tire well and the seat-belt tracks. We vacuum all of it. On hatchbacks and SUVs this takes as long as the glass work itself, and skipping it is why some cars still crunch a year later.

Wipers, brake lights and trim

Where the vehicle has a rear wiper, third brake light or defroster tabs mounted to the glass, those come off the old panel and go back on the new one, then get tested.
